Undefeated has come a long way from its humble beginnings to become one of the most well-known streetwear brands in the world. Sneaker culture may be a global phenomenon today, but it was still a very small, underground scene in the early 2000s.
James Bond and Eddie Cruz had the ambition to start a sneaker boutique in Los Angeles for collectors of rare and unique sneakers, collaborating with artists and like-minded enthusiasts to customize shoes and collaborative editions. Their early work had a significant influence on the growth of sneaker culture in the years afterward.
Undefeated has, as one might imagine, played a key role in every sneaker trend that has come and gone throughout the years.
During the Dunk hype, they collaborated on several Nike SB Dunk silhouettes, and they've worked with Adidas top-tier Consortium project on multiple occasions. Their military-inspired Air Jordan 4 collaborative model is one of the most coveted special-edition sneakers of all time, with a pair selling for over $18,000 in 2016.
Undefeated has collaborated with a variety of brands over the years, including New Balance, Converse, Pro-Keds, Timberland, and even created their own take on luxury Japanese streetwear brand Visvim's signature FBT silhouette.
The company maintains its retail roots by operating shoe stores in Los Angeles and Las Vegas, as well as various locations in Japan. Undefeated ventured into streetwear after a few years of success, launching their own in-house brand. Undefeated (or UNDFTD as it has been known) specializes on basic streetwear pieces such as caps, t-shirts, sweatshirts, and so on.
They are recognized for their familiar "tally mark" emblem, which represents a series of defeated opponents.
